Additional information

Research area

The group of Hans-Martin Fischer studies the molecular determinants of bacteria-plant interactions with special emphasis on the symbiosis between nitrogen-fixing rhizobia and leguminous host plants. The focus is on the molecular understanding of genetic regulatory circuits which enable symbiotic bacteria to cope with changing environments and stress conditions including those prevailing during host plant infection.

Hans-Martin Fischer is an associated professor and group leader in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Julia Vorholt at the Institute of Microbiology, ETH Zurich.
